Ribh's D'Coopage

I wouldn't be encouraging those! They are terribly destructive & have been known to chew out whole houses ~ never mind something as small as a fence or a chook pen!

Yep, I know they are noisy and destructive but I like them. They are also smart, beautiful and full of character. So far they've left all the buildings alone :fl. But it's deafening when a whole flock flies over!

Yep. Noisy buggers. They are after the scratch I spread for the chooks and they let the whole neighbourhood know there is free food available.

The rosellas and king parrots come for their share too. Some of them will eat from your hand :)
Okay, now that’s COOL! I would love it! But I wouldn’t love their destructiveness! :tongue.. it would be so neat to see them just flying wild!
In Metairie.. where I grew up.. they have huge flocks of the green parrots living wild.. it is really neat.. people would just release their pets and they started breeding and are thriving. People here also leave their macaws outside.. we have a very tropical climate.

Oh, and here is a photo from Dec 18 taken from the same spot as the one looking toward the dead grevillea and chook run but looking to the left. Just for you Ribh :).

Everything looks a lot more ragged and brown now what with winter and water restrictions. :hit

And that concludes the virtual tour of the back yard!

Beautiful door, sunrise, and ladies! It is just a beautiful world that Ribh lives in! I hope you feel better soon and can enjoy all the beauty around you. :hugs
I've got to be practically @ deaths door before I stop appreciating our beauty. I know we are truly blessed.

My MIL used to feed them until they had to go away for a few weeks. They started *attacking* them when they got back by dropping quite large sticks on their roof & heads & chewing on their wood....so...nope. I won't feed them. The bloke down the road does & we've all warned him. :( On the other hand we also get Black Cockatoos & those are cool.

Thank you! I am quite happy with all of them... but am wondering if anyone knows why my new layers.. LB, CM, and SS all lay bantam size eggs!? I know new eggs take awhile to get right but none of my other standard gals laid small eggs.. even when starting out.. and it’s been a few weeks now and they are still small.. looks like the CM and SS eggs are getting a tiny bit bigger but still small compared to the size of chickens these gals are! Mak (CM) is huge! And Goosie (SS) is short, fat, and squat

I thought you might be interested in this @WhoDatChick .

These are Alice's eggs laid 11 days apart
