You all need to tell me if there is something wrong with me (loaded question, right). I am sitting in my hotel room looking at the Miami skyline arguing with myself...........

Boy I am hungry, I should go have dinner.

No you can't leave now. The sun is setting. You have to get a picture of the sunset for @Ribh .

It won't set for another 40 to 50 minutes. You will die of starvation by then.

There is not enough time to eat and still get back to catch it.

I have to wait. I missed all those italian sunsets. I guess I will starve.

Then the rational part of my brain catches up.

You fool, you are facing the wrong way. The sun is setting behind you. There will be no sunset with the Miami skyline in it!

So here is the view from my hotel room. Maybe I can catch the sunrise for you.

Deana is laying ridiculously large eggs again.

Really worries me , but there's nothing I can do for her.

It has a hard shell but is really "wrinkly". Has anyone else seen this type of thing before?

In other news. Pepper is growing apace. I have discovered that she likes tomatoes and I think she has adopted Edwina as her big sister

Every now and again we see one. Sometimes they'll be double yolkers, other's just a big egg and upon occasion a whole egg with shell in the egg. Most often found with new layers but the old girls will have one from time to time. I have no idea why.

Pepper looks all grown up now.

Pepper is about 13-14 weeks old now.

As a rule Deana's egg shells have been quite thin so I have been encouraging her to eat shell grit (which everyone else is going for and she's ignoring) and gotten her to drink from the "special" water bottle that has calcium supplement in it but she still seems to want to forage rather than eat layer pellets!

Her eggs are quite heavy too. If they turn out to be double yolkers I'll get a pic to post!

It is worrying. The problem with over sized eggs and double yolks that many seem delighted by is one of the reasons hens suffer vent prolapse.
