Ribh's D'Coopage

I love seeing your ladies. This special feeding you have with Lottie is very sweet.

I have been working with Aurora for a week now on "eating up". Without Maleficent around the older girls are paying a lot more attention to Aurora. I used to be able to feed her and Mal treats separate from the others and Maleficent would let her have some. Right now the older 2 come running anytime I try to give her something and push her out of the way.

When my Daisy (greatest hen ever) was little, Elphie did the same to her. Daisy's solution was to jump up. Onto me, a side table, whatever was around. Once up, Elphie couldn't reach her anymore.

I have Aurora getting up on the footstool right now and eating some. She's just not comfortable for an extended period. Of course she was comfortable enough to leave a present behind this morning!

Thanks, Bob. She's plump & healthy & the big girls have got used to her special treatment ~ all except Suyin. She gets mighty jealous! She had ambitions but she took on Pebbles [Australorp bantam] & lost really badly ~ badly enough others took Pebbles side & Suyin slid down the pecking order.

Aurora is totally gorgeous! It's amazing how varied chickens are!

Okay yall... apparently the owls are doing a number on critters around here... I have found a half eaten rat.. an eel.. and the pellet the owl vomits.. the bones and fur of the eaten critter... this I do believe is an opossum :sick.. or what’s left of one... I find all of these things right around the same location.. under or near a pine tree in my yard.. I sure do love owls!! :loveView attachment 1919219View attachment 1919220
Now that's the sort of thing I would find fascinating too! :)

Will do! My friend found her, she was a stray, and is about 5 months old. I'm hoping my grumpy kitty, Marigold, will accept her.
Seconding the request for pics. Let us know what Adelaide gets shortened to; can't imagine you calling Adelaide every time you want her!

As we're showing photos, I captured a rare trio shot the other day :) while hunting for worms n bugs n doing the weeding

Thanks, I like to think so :) And they're very sweet :love although Janet has been out of sorts lately. She's still laying well and living a full chickeny life, but she's not as forthcoming. I think it's because she's second in command these days.
Chickens have their ups & downs just like we do.
