How hot does it get mid summer where you are?

It can get as high as 45C [113F] but tends to stick to around the high 20s, low 30s [somewhere in the 80sF] with very high humidity. Summer is our storm season. Because we are coastal we are always that few degrees cooler than anywhere else, even on the island. Once you're away from the water it can be pretty awful.

Thanks, Kris. I couldn't believe how well the different variegated wools worked together. I need to work on keeping my edges a lot straighter but that border is covering up a lot of sins!

Quite similar to here although above 40C is unusual.

Yes, we don't often go over 40, but it's the humidity that's the killer. So far it is a very dry summer & our fire danger is extreme.
