Ribh's D'Coopage

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things have been crazy lately. I saw a neurologist on Friday and they have a strong feeling that I likely have Multiple Sclerosis as well. I need to go for a MRI of the brain and neck. I also need an EEG to make sure I'm not having any seizures. I don't think that I am, but it is good to know for sure, as there are many types of seizures.

:( :hugs

Good evening everyone :)

I have trouble getting my family to understand this too... It not that I don’t want to come visit, it’s that I have 72 birds that need daily care, and you try finding a pet sitter that will do all this properly! I’m not set up in a way that I can just leave for a few days. I knew I was giving up vacations when we got into this, but I don’t think it really dawned on everyone else.

We thought everyone understood what it meant when we !over and they seemed excited, but as time goes by-that's not the case. :( They have to many kids to travel with and all and it costs to much. We have room here for everyone, so that's not a problem.
Oh well, we will take whatever we can get at this point.

@CrazyChookChookLady: How you doing, darl?Hope your weather isn't affecting you too badly.[/QUOT

Hi @Ribh! The weather isn't too bad right now, so I'm doing well on that front.

Now I'm waiting for the MRI of my brain and neck to be scheduled. It has to be authorized through my insurance first. Hopefully that won't take too long.

All in all I'm just trying to keep things as normal as possible. Funny thing is I think my dog knows something is not right. As soon as I'm in the house she follows me around, won't leave my side, and just sits and watches me. It kinda freaks me out, to be honest.

I hope your mri is approved promptly. Waiting for what you need must be an awful feeling.

You've made me very grateful for our medicare system and also delighted that some of my taxes help my fellow Aussies when they need it and will help me when I need it.

I really wish the US would get it's act together as far as health care goes. Last year I was in between jobs and had no health insurance. At tax time I had to pay a $300 dollar "fine", they deducted it from my return, because I didn't have health insurance. It's absolutely ridiculous!

I currently have "good" insurance, however I still have to pay the initial $1500.00 every year and of course co-pays and prescription costs on top of it. It gets very frustrating when I add it all up.

Our health care is really very good in Australia & we are very blessed. My man is on disability [broken back] & we get subsidised & after a certain point each year we don't pay for his medication. It has it's problems; need far outweighs availability of resources but all our main political parties endorse health care for every one of the country's citizens.
