Early start in order to put the girl on her flight to Melbourne for her debriefing. Crossed a state border as she flew out of Coolangatta for some reason, which is technically mostly just inside our border but not all the highway is... It's the weirdest setup. It belongs far more to NSW than to us but as it's part of the Gold Coast we get to keep it.

The highway's in awful repair & true to form now the roads department commences roadworks! Chockas going down but not too bad coming back but a 3 hr round trip & we are stuffed. Melbourne headed for over 40C & the girl's just out of sub zeros. That should be fun...

@Aussie-Chookmum : Look what arrived today! I actually like his illustrations so much I ordered 2 more of his, so that's 1 for each grandie: One Odd Old Owl & A Peacock on the Roof.

The first is a counting book; oldest just about ready for something like this. My Youngest GD is of Anglo/Indian heritage so the other should be perfect for her.

Just one comment. You could have hidden the stamp with the queens head on it.

I uncovered the Queen's head on purpose. Just in case there are any philatelists amongst you lot

I wanted to learn German @ school but French was the option.

It was the other way around for me..

The British are just a lazy when it comes to foreign languages. Another 50 years and you'll only need English and Chinese.

Darn it! I picked the wrong language! I started learning Japanese this year .
