I've bookmarked your recommendations Lozzy!Ooh, Moscato, sweet! Iām partial to Wolf Blass and Banrock Station wines myself. If youāre into something a bit different, I can recommend Golden Dropās mango wine, but my favourite has to be a sparkling red!
Despite Shad's observations I am not feeling particularly blessed. Having gone all summer with one or other of my BRs on the broody wagon I was looking forward to a break from this behaviour once the cooler weather arrived. Well blow me down with a feather, Mhari, who has only just started laying, has decided to go broody on me! I spent 15 minutes last night scooping her out of a nesting box & popping her on a roost. Stubborn.She was back in this morning & I am going to have to move her into the small coop with the nesting boxes shut off because the silly girl isn't eating or drinking!
I can't let her sit. My other options is to put her in the run with the big girls & hope the novelty distracts her.

Oh, gosh! My silly girl isn't even sitting on infertile eggs just now. She 's just squatting in an empty nest box looking vague.It's just starting here too.
I've been having the conversation with Mel today having watched her take over three hours to lay an egg.
I walk over and tap her on the beak saying "you're not sitting Mel."
Mel, "why not?"
"Because there isn't enough room for any more."
Mel, "you said we could sit if we wanted."
"That's not what I said Mel. What I said is I wanted to let every hen that wanted to sit do it at least once. You've sat twice, the last, a few months ago."
Silence from Mel.
I took the eggs away. Mel sat in the nest box sulking.
After another half hour or so she gets out of the nest box and eats some food and proceeds to shout the house down for Cillin to come and collect her. Treacle, who seems to be doing a lot of rushing about while his dad stays with the rest of the tribe turned up. He was good and just did a quick herding shuffle around Mel (she's his mum) for which he got a hackle flare and a peck.
Mel had got a pair of lungs on her; her daughters seem to have inherited this trait. She must have spent another fifteen minutes shouting for CIllin. He did keep responding to her calls but wouldn't come and get her. Eventually Mel gave up and stomped up the bank at the end of the house to make her way to where Cillin was. Cillin had manged to marshal the rest of the tribe and was slowly making his way across the sheep field.
Mel did go to roost in the coop...phew...one more night with an empty nest box.
I'm glad she's happy & comfortable but I am seriously over broody!
