Ribh's D'Coopage

I feel your timing situation. I got extremely lucky that it did not snow this February and I was able to integrate without major issues. If they were all stuck in the complex together, I hesitate to try and imagine how difficult that would have been.

Sometimes you take the chickens when they are available and deal with things from there. You will get it sorted soon enough.
The last 2 times we did this I had time to spend with them & the less flighty birds adjusted very quickly. This time the flighties are still flighty & even the calmer girls are still leery of me. My fault. I haven't had the time we both need to get used to each other.

Aren't you so glad they want to help? Can you explain to me what's wrong with onions??? I plant them and the girls unplant them. It seems to be the only thing "not allowed" in the garden.

Jeannie, the girls are doing great. Your caution is wise beyond belief. Before I had to lock mine down, I always had a few who thought it safer to sleep in the wild, which is largely why everyone is in lockdown now.
Thanks, Bob. The Campines are more than a little wild & could very easily end up in a tree for a night & we do have owls....

That's odd. The chickens here leave onions alone. There are some things I can plant and as long as they get started and not scratched out at seed the chickens wont eat them.

Mine despise onions - they disapprove of everything about them it seems. Which is a shame as I am rather partial to them - at least cooked.

It will come. Life cycles. My business and the weather have conspired to help me to spend maximum time with them. Your life will cycle around as well.

This weekend has been a bit of a mixed bag, the babies are doing great! They got to go out with the rest of the flock yesterday.

The down side of the weekend is Rich's dad is dying. He's on hospice and is slowly slipping away. He's had dementia for many, many years.
