Ribh's D'Coopage

I’m going with Thor. :D
I'm rather partial to that Earth/fertility/mother goddess that has been dug up at prehistoric sites.

I like the nurturing that she seems to represent

If lock-down happens, the health system won’t have to deal with things like car accidents and glassing from bar-fights etc on top of the pandemic. However, some territories are finding cases of domestic abuse are going up. :(
I've been wondering if we're will get a baby boom out of this. In the past we have after things like blizzards. 🤔

I’m so over the whole selfish, self-absorbed, individualistic Westerner thing. It’s been bugging me for a while now, I’ve just been thinking I’m becoming a cranky old woman:old but lately it’s beginning to really get me down. Whether it’s appalling motorists who tail-gate and have the ‘must get in front’ mentality, people who breed chickens to be little egg factories and don’t care what happens to them after a certain age or those who panic-buy Ventolin because it apparently helps you breathe better if you get Coronavirus, I’m increasingly dismayed by people’s mind-boggling selfishness.

And then I see behaviour that (somewhat) restores my faith in humanity. Today my husband was doing a long bike-ride on a quiet country road when he got hit by a car. It could have been a lot worse, he ended up with cuts and bruises and no breaks but it was a hit-and-run. There was a witness, who stopped and checked he was ok and the lady behind him stopped as well (she called me). The 1st Responders were Rural Fire Service who checked him out thoroughly. He was taken to the nearest hospital where the staff were great, and a couple of hours later the police had been given the name and address of a suspect. There is a strong probability that the driver was drunk and will probably get off with a slap on the wrist, but everyone else today was amazing. My husband said he hoped the guy was drunk because if he wasn’t, it means he deliberately hit him.

So I know that there are good people around, sometimes it just feels really hard to see them.
Goodness!
I'm glad your husband is ok, but what a horrible shock. I hope they catch the beggar :rant

I've wanted one of those bidets that they have in Japan for years. They wash and dry and play music. Ever so civilized and much more hygienic than paper!
My sink is very close to the toilet (I'm sure there is something fundamentally wrong with sharing this information on the interent :D) and I can reach the taps while sitting on the toilet; call it a design feature.:p
I have a bit of hosepipe that attaches to the tap. I don't need to explain further do I (?)

Ribh that is just how many American cyclists are. They will ride 3-4 abreast, go through red stop lights etc. They are very much a menace. When I had a bike I was too scared to ride in the street.

Walking wasn't any safer - although walkers were supposed to be facing traffic, so anyone who ran them over - would see the look on their faces burned into their brains.
I agree. Bikers can be very inconsiderate as well. So can auto drivers.

Amish buggies and wagons are an issue as well but they are easier to see than bicycles.

We all need to be careful and share the road. And this is from a guy with sports cars that likes to go quick. I would never be reckless with others, bicycles, joggers, or buggies. Courtesy = Safety

Plus you just never know when a chicken will cross the road! ;)
