Ribh's D'Coopage

It's why I live on an island with chickens. :gig My neighbours think we're odd because we don't party with them but in all honesty, my chickens & cats are better company! :p
We are now formally not supposed to go out and non-essential businesses have been closed. The Governor is asking for us all to practice 'social distancing'. Seriously, I am a natural. I talk to the cats in the evening and the chickens during the day. What more company could I possibly want?!

We started on 1m social distancing but it went up to 4m. Yesterday I went to get a few groceries and I was surprised to find people were behaving the same as always. Staying 4m away is not easy when others insist on barging in.

Ribh.. I’ve solved the broody problem.. all you have to do is have a backup plan.. having Cutie broody with no end in site.. I decided to go ahead and let her be broody and then get her some chicks to raise in a few weeks... well, no sooner do I say this does she decide to no longer be broody! :gig... problem solved!

Having said all that... I think Tunie may be broody... again :barnie........ sooooooo, I just may let her be the mama then... let’s see if it works again :fl
Lo and behold... it does work!! Tunie is not broody :gig ......

.... perhaps she wasn’t actually there yet to be honest...

So sorry! What a relief he wasn't too badly hurt. Isn't there a road rule about giving cyclists a metre and passing them at 40km/hr? Maybe that's just in SA.

It’s a metre under 60, a metre and a half over 60 in NSW. Most people ignore it. The Victorian police actively vetoed a metre-passing law because they didn’t want to have to enforce it. :rant

I think Australians will be in lockdown within a fortnight. We don't have community contagion in South Australia yet (I'm sure we will soon because carriers can be asymptomatic) but NSW, Vic, Queensland, and WA are not so lucky.

If lock-down happens, the health system won’t have to deal with things like car accidents and glassing from bar-fights etc on top of the pandemic. However, some territories are finding cases of domestic abuse are going up. :(

Because it competes with other road rules like not crossing doubles lines, or no passing & because so many bike riders ignore basic road rules. We have a bike track on the island but none of the riders will use it . Instead they weave down the middle of the road with ear plugs in & music blaring. Half the time they don't even know there's a car behind them. Not saying that's your hubby, Lozzy, just it happens & that makes it impossible for the cops.

In SA the competing road rules are lifted when passing a cyclist. Like crossing double lines etc. But we don't have many foolish bike riders, the traffic doesn't allow it.
