I saw a post on FB yesterday, a place I normally avoid, but I thought this one was worth passing on. A guy had 1/2 a dozen of his chickens stolen out of his back yard. We all know what Aussie chook pens tend to look like so hardly the most secure arrangement but there's a run on people asking for chickens & it seems if they can't buy them they're prepared to steal them.
The idiocy of some people boggles my mind. Out here, as we head into Autumn, most chickens are starting their molt & going off the lay, so nicking hens is just not terribly bright apart from anything else. So keep an eye on your girls everyone! It's getting madder out there.
That’s exactly the reason I bought a second dog crate.
