Ribh's D'Coopage

They seem like leghorns to me. Leghorns were not tough. Patience, etc.

I think I would love them! :love They are beautiful for sure.
I'm pretty sure you have the patience for them. The only big drawback is they are very good fliers.

So were my leghorns! My wife struggled with them roosting in the trees when I wasn't home. :gig
I used to have a bantam did that. 🙄 She did not make me happy.

I haven't got them worked out @ all. They run like Billy~o, swear they hate being handled but once I have them they settle down immediately & show no fear. Very odd birds.

I think you'd love them too. They're big girls though!
I am actually loving the big gals! Sunny, my BuffOrp.. and Mak, my Cuckoo Marans.. and boy is she big! I just love their shape! It’s my favorite.. it’s just so.. chickeny :love

I thought I would be happier with big girls [I hate how fragile my smaller girls feel when handling them! :( ]& all my 1st girls were big dual purpose heritage breeds but it turns out personality wise I actually prefer the smaller, flightier breeds.

I know you had trouble with your Wyandotte but my batams are gorgeous personalities: placid, no fuss, easy~peasy girls who run really, really well with the Campines. My bigger girls find the Campines a bit much altogether! :lau Perhaps there is a difference between Oz & US birds or just breeders. I haven't tried the standards though. I was going to but in all honesty I don't want any more big girls.

She is VERY beautiful!! Is she a small chicken.. not bantam..but smallish? She looks little.. or she just young..?
She is young ~ but the Campines are a bit on the smaller side ~ more game birdish in looks & stance. She won't get much bigger than she is now though she may get a little heavier. Ha'penny has filled out quite a lot her 2nd year. They are obviously bigger than bantams but they are not a round heavy bird. More streamlined.
