They'll tell you they look like that because I starve them.I'm always fascinated by pictures of your girls. The boys are stunning but the genetic mix in the girls is fascinating. To my eye she looks almost game birdish with that stance & shape.[colouring all wrong of course]
I had one of those, but they stand in front of me now blocking my path demanding that I turn out my pockets.I actually have a gesture to tell them I don't have anything so they understand it's all gone.
I must have misread that the first time round. I thought there was a with in between up and guests. Thanks, Bob. We'll shortly be in a position to put up guests.![]()
She's lovely.WROLD:
My scaredy chicken.
She is always last out of the coop & @ the bottom of the pecking order.
She is such a Nervous Nellie she flew out of the coop & straight across the run & over the far fence ~ a good 20'!
Bedlam!
She had no idea how to get back in the coop & the sight of me trying to round her up did not reassure her!
When I finally nabbed her she chittered crossly @ me all the way to the departure point.

I think she's close to laying as her face is a beautiful red but I find it hard to tell with these rose combs. Her sister is much paler still.
The Campines have that streamlined look & upright tail. I don't think it would take much for them to revert to being totally feral. They'll tell you they look like that because I starve them.
I think that given enough time this lot and many other breeds if left to their own breeding preferences, would look more and more like game fowl as time moved on. The genes are in there somewhere for every chicken. This lot got a head start due to the OEG in the bantams.
Such a beautiful bird.WROLD:
