Ribh's D'Coopage

Today the man & I put together flat packs: 2 coffee tables & a wood rack. The girl cleaned out gutters for us. 6 LARGE garbage bags of leaf litter went in the run, piled up & overflowing. You'd've though I was laying traps for heffalumps the way the girls carried on! The Campines tried to brain themselves on the high wire. The bantams scooted into the coop & hid in the nesting boxes. The Aracaunas screamed. 🙄 When I finally let them out They hit the happies fast. There were witchety grubs!!! And everyone stayed in the run till dinner time.

I came out to fill the tubs & I had 3 girls out. Suyin is chronic just now. Ha'penny because she's a Campine & that is what she does. And Alpia. 🙄 Alpia saw me & came running towards me, really happy to see me [kinda sweet] till she remembered she wasn't supposed to be on that side of the fence & I would most assuredly manhandled her back over it. She stopped dead in her tracks & tried to pretend she wasn't there!🤣 I finally got everyone rounded up & in the pen & perched on the step to hand feed my bottoms: Wrold, who came straight over; Ha'penny who's not about to give up her privilege; all the silvers & Beatha. It gets a little congested these days. Then I felt a gentle nudge on my leg. Alpia had arrived & was gently reminding me she wanted feeding too. She is such a sweet little hen!🥰 By the time I left the Bigs had finished & the Littlies could help themselves.

Lovely as usual Ribh. Maybe you should move a bit of your new sofa complex out where you can enjoy the view.
We have seating outside. The problem is the mozzies & midgies... 😒 I've angled the chair I use so I can always see outside & will swing everything round in summer so we look out. As it's getting colder the fire is the focal point. My lads are obsessive about having it raging when they come in off the winter water!

I handed the hubby a small tub of natural Greek yogurt this afternoon and shooed him outside to share it with the chooks who were free ranging.

He doesn't have a lot to do with the hens as a rule, but since we have been isolating and working from home he lets them out of a morning. I was wondering whether or not they would be wary of him.

When I joined them a few minutes later he was surrounded by chooks and dogs and he had yogurt on his mustache and Alice had yogurt on her beak. 🥰

Wish I'd thought to bring my camera out 😐

I love it! 😍 It's always good to have someone else the birds will trust. The man will do it if I'm not around but the girls let him know he's a very poor substitute!:lau
