I've found the reported incidence of male deafness among married men to be concerning.
Being a music lover my hearing is obviously important to me. I often cite the long term hearing disability as a reason for remaining single.
There really should be some health studies carried out on the subject given the prevalence of the problem. I have great difficulty understanding the problem. Being not just a music lover, but also a Hi Fi enthusiast, I found some of my partners forever turning the music down, or telling me to do so. I had, given the above problem, assumed that this was concern over my hearing but experience, albeit somewhat limited, has proven that my partner/s were in fact concerned about not being able to make themselves heard over the music. I didn't fully understand the problem until my sister at a live concert was all for asking the guys at the mixing desk to lower the volume because she couldn't make herself heard above the music.

I'm allergic to noise. I fail to see the point of living where we do & drowning out all the natural sounds with a t.v or hi fi. Unfortunately for me I have neighbours who like to share. I rarely appreciate their music choices & if my chooks had eyebrows they'd be sky high! I am notorious for turning excess sound OFF, not just down. And being deaf the man holds the conversational ground hostage as he is never aware of when anyone else says anything. One of my daughters is quite soft spoken & the complete non~sequiturs she gets from her father are a running joke.

Well, it will be Winter in a week or so but Autumn has just decided to arrive,

We had a hard rain with tiny hail stones yesterday which knocked off a few leaves from our maples. I thought it was a nice contrast on the green.
