She likes food with flavor. We season everything we cook and don't over cook the veg. The mashed potatoes there are instant and made with just water. The veg appear to be canned and always over cooked. We use fresh or frozen veg and everything is cooked lightly with butter and sometimes herbs. Once I figure out her menu, I'm thinking about smuggling in some dried herbs to give things a boost.

and will pass it along. She had roast turkey, gravy, green beans, mac & cheese, cornbread and chocolate pudding for dinner last night. We'll see how that went when I get there this morning. She's a big fan of crackers and cheese.
Congrats! There is no way Tsuki, as a self respecting leghorn, could let anyone start laying before her. That would just not be acceptable.Well, I have been whinging about my hens not laying since February/March but for the last week Tsuki has been showing signs of laying again. Squatting for me, checking out the nest boxes and getting in the way when I'm trying to clean out the coop.
When I went out to give them breakfast this morning they all came running except for Tsuki.
When I called her she came shooting out of the nest box.
"Aha!" thought I
Sure enough, when I checked there was a beautiful brown egg......wait what?

It seems that Edwina was ready too. She's not squatting for me though.
A few minutes later, Tsuki layed her white egg for me.

Reading is good for you.I just read...*takes shuddering breath*...through 9 pages... I know I promised I’d keep up.
Well Edwina just pipped her at the post this time!Congrats! There is no way Tsuki, as a self respecting leghorn, could let anyone start laying before her. That would just not be acceptable.
Lol I have two bookshelves full of novels I don’t think I need 10 pages of a chat thread to readReading is good for you.
Normally I can tell. Even the same coloured layers lay a slightly different size, shape & colour so if I'm paying attention I can tell. It must be Morrigu back on the lay but why she is burying them beats me!![]()
Well the pot roast she got yesterday tasted kind of like they tossed it in a pot of water and boiled it to death. Then they cut it with the grain rather than across the grain making it tasteless and tough to chew.
When I make a pot roast, I season one side with Garlic Powder, Onion powder and montreal seasoning an the other with meat magic. Then brown it, lather it up with horse radish, put it in the slow cooker with onions, celery, carrots and potatoes, cover it with beef stock and slow cook it. And of course I cut it across the grain. Oh, and I'll make a gravy out of the stock.
I feel you @Ribh . I think that Sansa and Aurora's eggs are starting to look the same. I don't even remember what Sydney's eggs look like. With everything a light brown color, size and shape is all I have to determine which is whose. Thanks Ribh.
It feels like it's been so long I thought I'd have to train them to do tricks for the circus for them to earn their keep!
Yep, I purposely got different coloured layers so I can tell whose is who. It's a bit hard to tell Alice's and Pepper's apart though...
Pity that there aren't 17 different colours for your girls...
