Ribh's D'Coopage

:frow Lovely to be back.

Sorry for worrying you

I'm just attempting to catch up on ByBob's thread now. I may not get to MJ's thread for a couple of days....😕
I was glad to see you checking in too! :D You have definitely been missed. :hugs

She's a lovely looking hen, Shad.
I'll tell her you said so Ribh. She's a strange little thing. She fits in my palm with the usual feather overlap. There are bigger crows here.:D Tack is now noticeably bigger than Bracket. Nolia and Bracket are the smallest of the bantam hens.

That last picture of her is great quality. I was able to enlarge it and she really is beautiful. Her feathers are immaculate! :love
I struggle with my camera. Sometimes I get a good quality snap but I don't know what it is that makes the difference. Anything with the zoom is iffy.

I tend to like odd little hens ~ no doubt why I own so many myself!:lau So much more interesting than their more conventional sisters. :)

I live vicariously through you as I stick to boring endangered breeds. I need to pay someone to do a lot of excavation work around here, but need the money first. I'd love to construct multiple houses with multiple runs, automatic feeders and waterers.

ETA: I'd also like to leverage rain catch and sink a new well. One can wish.

Well Campines are both heritage & endangered so I am lucky enough to have it both ways. :D Admittedly Wyandotte bantams & BRs aren't but they are both very sweet breeds. The man is enamoured with the bantams & he loves the Campines. Can't really ask for more from the man who never wanted chickens.

There are some very interesting endangered breeds. One just doesn't hear much about them.

I lost a whole swag of images with the old computer but Ha'penny is my Golden Campine & since I lost Tuppence she has become super flighty & unhandable. Not unfriendly. She still eats from my hand & enjoys my company but I haven't been able to handle her @ all.

Yesterday I noticed all the girls had headed up to bed early so I went out early to check everyone was comfortably roosting. Ha'penny heard the latch & hurtled back downstairs in the hope of treats & squatted. It's been a while so I grabbed the opportunity & picked her up. She wasn't overly happy but I was really happy. She feels a good weight, well stuffed & rounded, her feathers are in good condition , her eyes clear, & no sign of peskies.

I can handle most of my girls but Ha'penny & Morrigu are difficult & I have been trying to check everyone as Suyin has a mite problem ~ but she does seem to be the only one with the problem. I think we're getting it under control but it is being a slow old process.
