Ribh's D'Coopage

For @Aussie-Chookmum.
None of these trees were here 30 years ago.
All are rejuvenated & native to this area.

They share a cultural heritage. They were all Celtic tribes. The Ban file [poets] could travel anywhere in the Celtic kingdoms unmolested & the great Druid schools trained scholars from many different kingdoms. The languages developed differently though. Welsh & Cornish & Breton are distinct from the Gaelic Ireland & Scotland share because Ireland invaded Scotland's west coast & established a Kingdom there. The Romans couldn't manage it but the Irish did. :lau
A very interesting lesson there not learnt by the Romans, or many other armies throughout the centuries. One that springs to mind is the German invasion of Russia attempted overland. The Irish came by boat and arrived in more than one place at a time I believe.

The 3 jail birds.
Wrold is still all hackles & spite. Mhari keeps running round madly bonking. And Medh has decided the little coop is the place to be. She is 1st in the pecking order & quick to let the other 2 know it. It is very funny but her comb has fleshed out again & turned a lovely red instead of the shrivelled dried up looking thing on top of her head it was yesterday. As for Suyin, she couldn't wait to get back in the big coop with all her buddies so back she is though I will keep an eye on her tonight & see how she roosts.

Mhari got grabbed, much to her displeasure, to have a great big gob of dried poop dangling from her rear end cut off. She is much happier for it's removal. :)

Yes the Irish were pirates & slavers & the kingdom of Del Riata had a foot on both islands.

Great facial expressions.
It was hysterical. I knew she was in there. She knew I knew she was in there & every so often her head would pop up to check whether I was still standing guard or not! :lau Patricia was disgusted with her because she should have been in a nesting box!

So glad Suyin has improved so much! I love your descriptions of the dynamics in your flock!đź’ž Hopefully you won't have to keep them in jail for too long! I was sure glad I could release Spazzy girl within 24 hours!

That is very "Lilly-like". I hope they haven't been on Beakbook together again.

At least, much like bucket boy and fat bird in the morning, you get to carry them to bed.

In all seriousness, it was this behavior by Lilly that led to Maleficent roosting outside the coop and thus her availability to whatever predator it was that took her from me. When I integrated the next three, I did not let Lilly do it any more. I gathered her up and we had "special time" together while everyone else roosted. I might suggest you do the same thing before the younger ones simply prefer to roost outside.

With Ned and Lucky I had to watch Aurora for the same blocking behavior. It is a thing with chickens.
That's good advice Bob. I might give it a try.

Did Lilly eventually stop her Gandalf impersonation?
