They croon for you, that is so lovely. I have a rooster (3 girls and 15 babies between them) and my girls make a WARNING sound when I come close! Next time I won't get a roo. I want what you have .

But didn't you say you free ranged? Technically I don't [escapees excepted] & have a very low predator risk otherwise I would be seriously considering a rooster.

These days it's more a case of they stand there & scream @ me demanding their release.
