Yes, I am! Especially since I chose randomly from 3, just asked for

the biggest Roo, since I knew I wouldn't be able to keep them cooped up. I didn't expect 15 additions so soon, though . I don't know ANYTHING about chickens, am winging it... .

I love the phrase "winging it".

We did the same thing here. Jumped in with 6 chicks 7 years ago and figured it out since then. What I will say to you is that the abundance of knowledge in this thread alone would have been a huge help to me. I wish I had found this site a few years earlier. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We love to help.

Don't worry about it @Lids. We will get to know you too as you comment & post. It's not much different to coming into any new group where everyone knows everyone else. It will take a bit of time but I do hope you will continue to post pictures of your flock & whatever else you find interesting. We are all big fans of sunrises, sunsets & interesting cloud formations. Or pretty views ~ & most of us are readers. Post anything about books @ your peril!

What season are you in Lids? We're into our 2nd month of spring but you'd never know it by the weather. Normally we'd be sweltering @ least some of the time by now but instead it's been cool enough most evenings for a small fire still.

My broodies have quit ~ @ least for the time being.
So I thought, don'tcha know, that last evening everybody would be back in the big coop & all one big happy family again.

Medh & Suyin had other ideas.

They refused to go into the big coop to eat.
Whenever I stepped out into the run as I went about my chickeny chores they headed hopefully towards the small coop.
Eventually I gave in. I put fresh water & a tub of food in there for them & in they went as good as gold.

I'm warning you, girls, this is not a long term solution!​
