By the way mate, you're not alone in broody town. Mary has spent the last few days sitting. Today was quite hot too. I was worried about her so I placed the sprinkler so that it rained over the nest box and it stayed quite cool in there!

Poor baby. If only she had some fertile eggs. It really is fascinating that they still try to hatch despite the lack of a rooster. It can't be that we humans do that role enough for them. The urge to reproduce is very strong. Especially so at @Ribh house.

Poor baby. If only she had some fertile eggs. It really is fascinating that they still try to hatch despite the lack of a rooster. It can't be that we humans do that role enough for them. The urge to reproduce is very strong. Especially so at @Ribh house.

I don't think a hatch is wise at this time. The chicks would be too vulnerable.
