Me too!!!

Looks like we are all coming to your place for a cuppa and chicken time! 😁 :love
That can be arranged. ;) Just tell me when so I can meet your boat. :lau
I'm amazed that you could settle on the names so fast. There's no harm in waiting a few days to get to know each other better. They are all so sweet!

My favourite names are still Cordelia and Viola and of course Mistress Quickly! ;)
They're great names but no~one wanted them. :( I tried out both Viola & Cordelia & noses turned up all over the place.:idunno

I agree with this, actually. But I don’t think one mealie would hurt. I am also being vigilant on fatty liver. @MaryJanet , I sometimes make a madh with their feed, watm water and Lily if the Desert aloe detox. I also occasionally empty capsules of Echinacea goldenseal, olive leaf extract and milk thistle into their mash.
At present, all my chook friends are having mash for dinner, made with high protein low fat pellet, with added milk thistle, biotin, choline, and cheese. I've got DMG coming from the states and that will be added too in time. Ever since Peggy's diagnosis I've been leaning on cheese as a treat.

I am so happy for you, Ribh. The babies are so beautiful.

It’s interesting to read about what age everyone acquires their birds. I have only gotten day old (more like 2-3 days old) chicks. I’ve done this four times now. All the ones I hand raised are (somewhat) easily handled and the broody-raised ones aren’t too bad, either. Only Ester is a ā€œWild Thang!ā€
I've only ever really done POLs & even the Campines have gentled with time & patience. The Belgians are just minuscule:eek:And I'm terrified of them.

Yep. A day of getting used to a new environment. I checked on them regularly but mostly let them be. They are eating & drinking heaps, which is good. Yesterday when Kirby jumped on the coop roof they freaked totally. Today they barely fluttered an eyelash. šŸ™„ Guess they are feeling safe. I don't think they are early to bed girls so I will have to herd them up the ramp to bed. And Alpia has gone broody on me. :he I don't think I'm going to be able to break her in the coop & she can't go in the little one so I will just have to keep a close eye on her.
Good luck with Alpia :fl

Good luck with Alpia :fl
Thanks MJ. I'm a bit worried about her. It's been terribly hot, she seems to have lost a little condition & the big girls have started picking on her for some reason. On top of that she hasn't really been leaving the nest. I will put her up on a roost tonight & hope that helps cool her.

Don't be afraid to handle them...it will help them to warm up to you so much faster! We always had Banty's until this year, they are tiny, but tough enough! šŸ’ž

Hopefully that will discourage her.

Remind me again of the benefit of cheese for fatty liver?
