I hate to think what would happen if you had a rooster... I can see a little Australian island quickly becoming overrun with feral chickens with the determination your girls have for sitting!

"wild" water is ALWAYS better. My dogs and cats do the same thing. The cats even have the option of fresh from the tap water, but NOOOOO, they have to drink out of the puddle in the driveway.
