Medh is 4 letters & I've screwed that one up numerous times ~ if only because my brain is hard wired to bh = v in gaelic.I've been fond of the four letter rule. I can always remember four letter words.![]()

Cheeky sods! But gorgeousI had a pair of Galahs investigating both coops this morning.
The chook feed is safely beyond their reach!

Yeah not my favourite visitors. They're noisy & destructive. I prefer the small song birds that the bigger birds scare off. They were very cheeky though, sitting on the roof & eyeing off what was on offer!Cheeky sods! But gorgeous![]()
I'm not certain the elf names need to match up. I hen named Drizzt sounds fine to me. Of course I once named what i thought was a hen, Jabberwocky, so there is that.I wanted to use Drizzt, but he's a boy...I could rename one of my Marans Drizzt...dark elf....dark chicken....![]()
Start putting them on the roost at night, not just in the coop but onto the roost. Wait until it is pretty dark so they can't really see to get down. That will do the trick quickly. One or two nights and they will seek out the roost. Peer pressure will also work in your favor. Once someone gets started, they all will. There is a roost ~ & the size they are they should all fit along it quite nicely but no~one is using it. They were in a brooder @ the farm so guess they've not seen a proper roost before. They form a cuddle puddle on the floor.![]()
She is stunning and compared to Aurora, quite nice to everyone else. She is gorgeous but she is one reason I hesitated about getting one!![]()
It is one of her best. She really posed in that one. Her feathers are really best viewed in sunlight though. She is stunning in sunlight. That is a wonderful shot, Bob, & really shows her off. She's definitely a very pretty girl!
I will tell her you said so.Bob, I think I haven’t oohed and aaahed over Sansa publicly because I love your Hattie! But I have secretly thought Sansa was beautiful, as well. She is so striking!
That's great news. You can wait on the roosting then if you want. You may still need to help them but it doesn't need to be so dark when you do show them.Success!!!
Everyone took themselves to bed last night.
There was a fair bit of to & froing. The little frizzles were anxious to snuggle down for the night but the bigger girls were less enthused by that idea so in & out they went, up & down... eventually Titania, Olivia & Ceres all stayed. The rain forced the next 3 to make a decision but Gloriana & Goneril [the smaller of the 2 Vorwerks] didn't roost till it was dark. I'd had to go back inside but when I came out to check they had actually joined everyone else. Yay!
