I guess we're accustomed to the emus we see in the wild, which are taller and fuller looking.
He was in the wild all winter! Of course probably not a lot of good feed here for him.
 
They tend to be a fair bit bigger than an average domestic cat. A big one is about 20+ pounds whereas my bigger cats are around 12 pounds (my runt is only 6 pounds).
My guess is @BY Bob's cat Davis is approaching the size of a raccoon.
Size and looks. I call him raccoon all the time.

It looks like you photoshopped the tufts. 🥰🥰
That second picture might be my favorite of her so far. It captures her inquisitive nature for sure.
