Ribh's D'Coopage

I was so happy when I saw her joy :D it turned into a circle of affectionate delight. I took time off and we spent a marvellous afternoon under the pergola, sipping wine, nibbling cheese, chatting and doing a jigsaw puzzle 🥰
What a wonderful afternoon. I'm so happy you got to experience that. :love

We were on the mainland today & had agreed that we'd try the cafe [a la the old boat shed] on the other side of the marina creek.

The views are fantastic & on a warm summer's day it would be something very special but today, even in the sun, it was decidedly chilly. The food was nothing special though perfectly edible

And as we found our seats we watched our youngest son coming in from an early morning's crabbing.

The chickens might have been peeved @ our absence but everybody now gets to eat!
Beautiful views though. 😍

Aussie peeps: ABC I View has a program available just now called Chicken People. It is American & about showing but some lovely, lovely chickens! Including Leghorns. I don't know if you will be able to get the link @BY Bob.

How is it I never heard of this! I think I can make the link work by setting up an account. Thanks for sending it my way.

I think Mum and Dad are on the mend, Dad is out of hospital and I think Mum was hoping to be discharged today. They both had pneumonia, plus Dad has something on his kidney that needs to be investigated.

Thanks for thinking of me! :love
I'm so glad to hear that they are improving.

When the issues started with my parents the biggest problem we had and still have to be frank, is getting them to the right people early so something like pneumonia doesn't get to the point where they have to be hospitalized. Do your parents let you know when something is up?

I am so pleased! :hugsThe chickens are gorgeous! ❤️
Of course. They are leghorns! Duh.

The chickens are beautiful and it's very interesting and educational seeing the different breeds but these sorts of shows always make me feel uncomfortable for the birds.
So much noise and light and handling. They must find it overstimulating and stressful.
I know I do. 😐
Me too. There's another 'chicken show culture' movie that iView recommend to me after I'd watched Chicken People, but it's set in New Zealand and it really made me cringe. I didn't realise so many show chickens lived in small cages and some of the people in it had not developed much self respect or respect for others.

I'm convinced backyard chicken keeping is actually rather healthy for the chooks as long as the keeper has a vet handy for when things go wrong. Free ranging over a big plot is even better.

I'm not sure if it was here or on MJ's thread but Bob asked to see the mugs I didn't resist buying. I ended up keeping 3.

Where did yall did these cups from? I see everyone has them... they are so cute! They are not big enough to hold my morning coffee... but I could still have them for other things...
