This is what I thought tooOk now I'm completely confused. You were face-timing Ribh? I thought the larger person on the screen was a reflection of the person using the computer.
Not only do I have trouble recognising faces, I am also technically challenged. I have used face-time....once I think?
Please accept lots of apologies from me Ribh, BYBob and Mrs BYBob.![]()
Oh wow! I didn’t even notice! That is a serious!Wow, that's a rather scary spur she's sporting there.![]()
You forgot to mention one redeeming characteristic - they are very pretty! Gotta count for something?View attachment 2744916
CHICKEN OF THE WEEK:
FREYA.
I promised Vorwerks this week.
My 1st admission is I am still having heaps of trouble telling these girls apart unless all three are together, as mostly they are, so the eagle eyed among you may spot me calling someone else Freya.
Freya is the largest of the Vorwerks I presently have. They are a hardy dual purpose breed out of Germany & incredibly rare. This is another breed that was nearly lost after WWII.
They were bred from a mix of Lakenvelders, Buff Orpingtons, Buff Sussex & Andalusian. The eggs are a light brown.
My 2nd admission is these aren't my favourite breed. They are flighty & inquisitive, smart but not streetwise ~ & really destructive. The Campines, who share a number of their more undesirable traits, are street smart. The reason my girls are now firmly penned is due to this lot, rather than my Campines. The Vorwerks not only got into everything & ate everything, they encouraged everyone else, who up until their arrival were much better behaved, to do likewise.
They are supposed to be easily handled but for me it has been a lot of hard work to get them to merely tolerate me. They are terrific foragers but are doing ok confined as well.
The chicks are fast maturing & they are probably one of the more dominant breeds I have ~ & I'm not a fan of the more dominant & aggressive breeds.
Freya is a cat hater & has been known to chase both my cats round the yard pecking them. She's lucky not to have been turned into lunch by them! However Portia, my Frizzled SLW, has fun chasing her round the yard. I'm still trying to get video of that.

I can do that closer to the time, I’ve got a subscription so there’s no 40-minute time-limit.That would be wise. Do you wish to organize?
Well that disqualifies me, I had no idea there was a subscription involved or a 40min time limit!I can do that closer to the time, I’ve got a subscription so there’s no 40-minute time-limit.
I get my first jab on Monday! That seems very low! I'm only a half too. My second jab isn't until August.
Congratulations!I get my first jab on Monday!![]()
Yes, they are very pretty. The one with her back turned is Freya. You forgot to mention one redeeming characteristic - they are very pretty! Gotta count for something?
Of the three, which one is Freya?
