Yeah, the one in Maine is only 240 kms from me but its about 16,000 kms from Australia (east coast) to here. MUCH too far for a virtual visit

The one here is one of our older campuses & quite lovely. It is rural but waaaay too cold for me in winter [it snows. I have an aversion to snow] It has a great reputation for overall student satisfaction & I must say so far they've been incredibly helpful.Yeah, the one in Maine is only 240 kms from me but its about 16,000 kms from Australia (east coast) to here. Yes, It serves regional NSW. USQ, where I did my BA, serves regional Queensland. We have big snowfields in NSW & a number of ski resorts in the mountains. Although it is quite rare it has been known to snow in parts of Queensland too ~ @ least once in Toowoomba when I was studying there.22,500 students, big school!
Snow? In NSW? Wow, I would never have guessed that. Of course my knowledge of Australian geography/topology is severely limited.
Such a pretty little egg!CHICKEN MYSTERY.
To the best of my knowledge I only have 1 blue layer, Beatha.
Beatha has been laying for @ least 2 years & lays a medium sized egg about every 3 days. As all my bantams have gone broody [most are now broken] the nesting boxes have been pretty well constantly occupied so Hepzibah & Beatha have been sharing an outside nest.
What I want to know is: who laid this?
It's bantam sized. It was half buried in the bedding, not in a nesting box. I'm pretty sure Oshina is the only bantam who's not yet begun laying but she should lay a lovey buff brown egg like Olivia. Shuri isn't laying either but she is a standard Wyandotte & her eggs should be brown too. So who owns this?

Oh no! What a mess!I could cheerfully throttle Ha'penny.
I've had a drop in egg production. I knew Hepzibah & Beatha had been laying in the yard but I've found their nests.
Last night I was late putting the girls up. In the twilight I thought I was a girl short but I couldn't be sure & as everyone comes for dinner I put it down to a miscount.
Today I was earlier. No Ha'penny. Everyone else came running except that Golden Beauty.I've had so many girls go broody on me here I figured Ha'penny had a nest hidden away somewhere. Yep. It took me a while to find it. She is very clever about hiding her nests but I counted 20 eggs under her! TWENTY!!!!! They were all filthy & some are exploding so the whole lot have had to be ditched. What was she thinking?!
And the fuss when I took her off the nest!
