Bored, Shad? The sooner you're back @ the allotments the better it seems. And yep, it's an oldie but a goodie this one ~ though shim is a term I've actually heard. Girl's soccer. Not sure if it was derogotary or just descriptive.

No idea about soccer, but a shim is a slim piece of something (usually wood) that you use to level something or fill in a spot.

Definitely not something you would see here! But then I suppose you would find the birds we have to be "exotic" if you don't have the same species.

That is Positano. It is a beautiful place but the stairs will wear you out quickly.

One has to wonder about the people who decide to build on cliffs like that! Can you imagine carrying all the stone down the cliffs?

My daughter started looking for wedding spots in Northern Italy but none of them were exactly what she wanted. I had a boss at the time that had honeymooned in Rivello and suggested we look there. That's how we wound up in the area. She fell in love with the region so there we went.

It's a mess of a language, I'll give you that.

I’ve always said that English is a stupid language!

It's a lovely language. So cosmopolotian. It'll borrow words from anywhere. It'll even invent new ones if you like. And it gives you so many choices about how you say something ~ or describe something. That doesn't make it easy for non native speakers but it did give us a Shakespeare.
