I think the word Nantucket gives rather a strong hint at how the next line will endThis is true...but I wasn't expecting it too be quite soo...graphic.![]()
Brilliant! There once was a man from Nantucket
Who had a green and blue bucket
It held a huge pear
Which he carried to share
With folks on very tight budgets.

It's a lovely language. So cosmopolotian. It'll borrow words from anywhere. It'll even invent new ones if you like. And it gives you so many choices about how you say something ~ or describe something. That doesn't make it easy for non native speakers but it did give us a Shakespeare.

Talk about a destination wedding! Not to insult anyone but I think I'd rather live on a cliff in Italy than in Detroit. My daughter lives in Detroit, MI.
Depends if your mind lives in the gutter or not!I think the word Nantucket gives rather a strong hint at how the next line will end
Well, well. According to Wikipedia .....Talk about a destination wedding! Not to insult anyone but I think I'd rather live on a cliff in Italy than in Detroit.

Your version is quite clever.
There once was a man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.
According to Wikipedia the answer to that is:Who knew it was originally clean! I wonder who modified it to the version all of us gutter minded people know.
