The problem with white chickens is they so rarely look lovely & white. Most of the time they merely look grbby. One dustbath & they turn mottled.

That has really not been my experience with them. Usually mine emerge from a dust bath sparkling white again. It is like magic.

Especially after the rain!

After a rain they do look a little grubby but not that bad.

After this dirt bath Daisy, The Greatest Hen Ever, was sparkling white. It seems impossible but it was true.

Good evening folks

How did your day end up? I really hope it wasn't as awful as anticipated.

Expensive. $85 to get to town and $110 to get home. Add record heat and I was having difficulty catching my breath. So all in all a miserable experience but I now have food.

Ha'penny is back on the lay.
I missed her start as it has been so wet but it was obvious this morning as she ran screaming round the yard looking for somewhere to lay.​

There were 4 of Ha'penny's eggs outside the nest proper.
But the bantams have been busy...
My girls are so feral!
