I am ok with it being electric, Consumer Reports even says that electric ones tend to heat up faster and hold temp better. Plus I don't like pilot lights. Someday when my kids are grown I will have a Viking, until then I will settle for something more basic.
I am really torn, I love how easy it is to clean the glass top, but I thought I heard that you can't do any canning on them. I have no cast iron, so that's not an issue, but my main set is a very heavy stainless set.
It must be the rapture for my appliances by the way. The compressor on the AC went out yesterday and when we dug the fan out it didn't work. Really I wasn't surprised by that point.
