I found my broad breasted white Peaches in the coop this morning in rigor mortis (or frozen). He was born in March this year and must weigh a ton. I think he was victim to hypothermia. Because he couldn't perch like my heritage turkeys, he was always lying in the wet muck outside and it ruined the feathers that kept him protected. In Michigan it's been in the 20s and part of the run is frozen but part is puddly deep mud and turkey excrement. Peaches will be remembered as a friendly easy-going chap.
