RIR’s?

4 new chicks. Seller said they are pure RIR’s, but two of them have white wing feathers. Is that normal?

I'm new to this chicken keeping thing but I have 4-RIR chicks that are 2 weeks old...they don't have wing feathers like that. May be that I have a different strain or something?? Some of the more experienced folks on here can help you out I'm sure....

I have over 40 RIR and none have white in the wings or anywhere else.

Not RIRs. Maybe some kind of red mix, but not red sexlinks because those also both look like boys. Sorry.

Also I agree, not RIR. Maybe second generation red sexlink or some type of mix.

They don't look like RIR chicks to me. Not reddish enough, IMO.

Thanks that was my first thought. I haven’t seen any with the white feathers like that before.

All my red sexlinks, on the other hand, at one point while they were chicks had white wings. THen they molted and most of the white feathers were replaced by some version of red or red lacing.
