You know I'm starting to think I have Buckeyes!!! The reason yours has a bigger comb is because it's single comb...mine have rosecomb or peacomb (I can't tell yet, althought #2 does look like peacomb). I find yours looks like a pullet if you look at the feathers...no pointy hackle or saddle feathers- which is why I'm thinking mine are roosters. The only reason I have my doubts for #1 is that it doesn't act like a rooster. #2 is making rooster sounds and is trying to have some ''sexy time'' with the top hen (which our top rooster is not appreciating!). I can only keep one more rooster because I already have too many (I don't want bareback hens, haha, those poor girls)...so I'm still waiting to see...fingers crossed!I think the first one is a pullet and the second is a roo. Her legs are slimmer.
I think i have a RIR that is just over 10 weeks and I WANT to believe she is a girl because she is just so sweet. However, her comb is way bigger than either one of yours and she is younger. But her behaves so differently than the others I have. She does not like to fight and runs away from any type of confrontation, she has not crowed ( i have 4 and two have started crowing).
