HI,
I have 6 rir chicks, about 4 months old. Judging by the color and size of combs and waddles, I have 4 boys and 2 girls. One of the "girls" though has green on her tail feathers. Might that mean she is a rooster?

My RIR hens have green feather in their tails....the difference is in the shape of the tails. I would think that the roos that you know are roos would have the beginnings of the longer feathers. The hens are stumpier. Watch for saddle feathers....rooster feathers....the skinny ones in front of the tail feathers....
