I knew out of 40,000+ members someone would have a pic. I love this place and that is one cool looking hen! Did she lay well and what color were the eggs?
most definately! you know alot of people say they dont like mixies, but dont seem to think that all of these breeds were at one point mixies. in the very very very old days nobody really cared about breeding pure chickens. all they cared about was food from them. i understand progression but why should the mixies of the world be left out? my wonderful broodie momma is a silkie mix and i wouldnt trade her for anything in this world. she is a sweetheart! lots of love to everyone this fine day!

The problem is that every white silkie can have a different genetic makeup (except for having two copies of recessive white), so what is produced from one bird may not have much similarity to what is produced with another cross. I do agree that she is an interesting looking bird.

Thank you
She has not started laying yet though. I imagine another month or 2. There was another member who had a SilkiexRIR cross that ended up being a rooster. This bird had more white in it though, especially in the saddles.
These are some other pictures of her that I found.
