Hi my name is Eric, been playing with the idea that my flock was of the pure variety but then I got a roo with a blue neck lol, never seen this before but other rirs don't have that, it's all the same bloodline on my 3rd gen now breeding father back to granddaughters and the roo in question would great grandson to my main breeder , none of his sisters have blue necks though, this is actually the first time I've ever seen this(don't get me wrong I love it because it's different and pretty) has anyone else seen anything like this?

Doesn’t look like a RIR to me

Genetic fluke. Off colors and patterns happen in every pure bred flock. Nothing to worry about to much but it should be culled for if your breeding to standard.

i have a friend that wants to buy it only because its pretty haha, but im not sure if want to get rid of it just yet i kinda want to see what it looks like at 9-12 months between now and then im going to see if i can reproduce another, its just odd i guess out of 5 hatches and 100's of birds he is the only one lol

My Guess is that the person you got the chicks from had another breed in with the hens and did not wait a month after separating into breeding pens

It looks like you have a cross breed of some sort
