CatsCritters.. you are right on with your list. My hubby hunts and so does his dad. Dad gives us the meat so that usually lasts us about 10 months. I grow a garden. This year we are pruning down the types of things we grow to more useful items, that will also store longer. More potatoes, onions and squash and of coarse carrots and peas. I am having my MIL teach me how to can this summer. We fish alot! It used to be for fun but now it is to fill the freezer. My hubby is going to learn how to make a smoker so we can do that with our fish as well. Also I would say 90% of the labels in my cupboards are store brand. I really don't notice alot of dif. My hubby and son swear the mac and cheese taste funny but cut up generic hotdogs and add to it or a can of tunafish and they don't notice! We live in the country so besides BBQ we can raost hotdogs over the fire pit for supper. My son thinks its a great treat and we are saving money in food and electricity by not cooking in the house!
