First thing I thought, comic book art. So true how 2 people can look at same thing and see it very different.

Thank you. You exactly expressed my thoughts on the actual adIf concerned about the use of heavy advertisment, commercialism, sex being commercialized, women used to sell products/as sexual objects, and realiance on corporate food/heavily processed food http://www.liptont.com/our_products/iced_tea/ice_sweet.aspx I'd understand the concern. Otherwise, I have to go with Aubery:
All I can think of when I see this label is that the second woman appears to be lacking a skull due to the placement of hair by the artist. One altered bend would fix it... Grah! It's driving me nuts.
Because text does not have tone I want to start by saying this is not an attack and meant in the most gentle way.
Honestly this made me laughhow is this offensive? I think people who get offended by this are actually feeling guilty about their own dirty minds.![]()
If your kid "gets" this then they are old enough for you to explain things to them. Explain what it is, why it is, and how it should be handled. By making a big deal about things you either make them feel guilty (there fore passing on your own handicap) about it or they will be more tempted because it is forbidden. It's like parents getting upset about their kids seeing something same sex related. They throw a fit because they are too embaressed themselves to talk about it, instead of taking the time to explain things. I asked what *ay meant as child and I was told it meant happy. Imagine my confusion lol
Did you know in victorian times seeing a womans ankles was racy? Do you think primitive tribes that wear almost nothing think anything of certain body parts since they see them every day and grew up with them being as normal as seeing someone's nose?
I guess all I'm saying is that whatever message you get from something is what your own mind makes up about it. And using the "I wouldn't want me kids to see it", when it's something "suggestive" and not outright is not, in my mind, a good excuse. Like I said, if they are old enough to get that it means something they are old enough to be told the truth.
Now I have very old fashioned values. I don't in any way support or think that suggestive things are ok. What I am saying is you live in this world and getting yourself offended by your own imagination is silly. Don't blame them, learn to control your own thoughts. And secondly, protect your kids from harm but give them a good foundation of beliefs. Just like plants sheltering only makes them more likely to be weak when out on their own.
Again, not an attack. Just my thoughts![]()
EweSheep... I'm so very sorry![]()
I spent a few years as a GD major before my head exploded. I love the art side, hate the... I guess the best word is psychology? Having conversations about which typeface or color set would be more appealing... Meh.
I can see that label being seen as suggestive though to people who tend to see that sort of thing. Ya know, some people will always see phallic objects in things like buildings. Or hills that look like female curves.
Of course I know of a girl who made a giant vagina out of plaster.

There are many levels and types of suggestive to explicit content.
Oh I can certainly relate to that LOLOL! At least my head didn't explode but sure, we did some "racy" things in designing projects. Remember the smiling Mona Lisa? The teacher asked us to Photochop any way we want but still be recognizable at the Mona Lisa. Sure there were exposed breasts (as "underbreast" corset style, of the 1840's) and some would really constort your imagination that you had to stand way back and look at the picture upside down to get some idea what the artist is trying to portray the painting as.
A simple tulip could signify "a vagina"....its how the artist perceive the object into something it is not really IS the object in question.
Oh yeah, typefaces, colors and contents...drove me batty! I remember spending HOURS on a project that puts Michaelangelo's David to shame (noticed his hands are unusually large?)
As a long time artist and graphic designer, it is NOT racy or sexual.
It shows "relaxation, awwwwwww moment" type of design.
No two people will think alike and view the same thing. IMO I think they can come up with a better layout for Lipton, like tea leaves, a coffee cup, fancy tea cups/set that shows tea.
Guess Im just the pervert of the world for thinking this way and everyone else is holyer than thou.
20 years ago this would not be commonplace on a tea bottle. But I guess with this new secular world I am an endangered species about to go extinct.
