Don’t worry I see eggs in the future from these two!Everything is so confusing. Lol. I just wanted some hens to lay some eggs for my family.
It's a different kind of bend compared to typical male feathering - from your photos, she looks like a beautiful pullet. Here is a butt pic. Sometimes they look bent and sometimes they don’t. . I just don’t know
Can you explained what exactly barred means ?Gems are sex linked. Males would be barred.
My two sapphire gems look like the lighter one you have. Light body feathers and darker around the head and neck.I have never owned chickens before. Do they both look like sapphire gems to you ?

Barred is one of the chicken feather patterns. Simply put, Sapphire Gems are sex linked, meaning each gender has a different color or pattern. Female Sapphire Gem will be blue and males will be blue with the barring pattern, which is shown in the picture below. Can you explained what exactly barred means ?
Definitely not a roo. They have bigg combs and they develop early on in age, the red bottom things would also be larger. I dont know the breed unfortunately. But others willThis chickens waddles and comb are very red compared to the other sapphire gem we bought. Which has me thinking maybe it’s a cockerel. Would have hatched last week of May. I am posting pic as a chick and today
