This chickens waddles and comb are very red compared to the other sapphire gem we bought. Which has me thinking maybe it’s a cockerel. Would have hatched last week of May. I am posting pic as a chick and today

So would that mean she will start to lay before others ?
I’m not positive. But I think it’s a good sign.

One of my barred rocks developed her comb and wattles before all my others (about three weeks before the others), but she was second to lay. I had a RIR that seemed to get red over night and lay her first egg the next day. They were both 16 weeks when they started to lay.
