"Mother," Tait jerked his head side to side, searching the area. They were too far from the Thunder. If she fell, he'd have no one to help him. "Please, Mother, can we go now?"
Mercedes stuffed more berries into her mouth. She paused and stared at him, then picked some more berries.
"Mother," Tait held one of her claws, "we ought to get back before..." he looked up. The sun was well into the sky. Probably noon...ish? Maybe? Maybe earlier? Or later? He wasn't sure. "Before it gets dark?"
Mercedes stared at him, then at his claw holding hers. A grumble erupted in her throat and she yanked her claw away. There was another berry bush further from the bank and she made her way to it.

Her jaw dropped as he fell and her concern deepened as his eyes closed. Surely a rattlesnake bite wouldn't kill a tyrant of his size, injurious to his health though it might be. But that was hardly a consolation. He was in a bad way, and so far from any help.
Zara tried to remember what she knew about snake bites.
"Don't panic," she said. "That causes the poison to spread faster."
She felt silly for saying that. Clearly the dinosaur was already following that advice to the T. Now as for herself...
"Oh why are we from home! What can I do to help? And it's all my fault! If I hadn't scared him off he would have seen that snake..."
He wanted to tell her it wasn't her fault but he was too exhausted from running and the snake bite wasn't helping any. He knew that because of the prey that the Canyon Runners hunted wasn't enough to satisfy his hunger for his natural prey that the Marshes provided, and that is one more thing to add to the list of bad conditions he is in.

@Blue Raptor Is there any chance you wanna make Arran and Cragan find their way back over to him on their hunt and spot all the intruders on the Canyon Runner's territory ( if Tait and his mother find them ) and maybe Rageada can wonder her way over as well and it can be some sort of meet up kinda, and then they all become a friend group sorta like the Jade Winglet from WoF

Tait's mother really likes berries🤣🤣🤣

@Amer do you think we should add Tait and his mother to this scene?

Zara now remembered Tait and his mother. Did she dare to involve them? Tait's overbearing manner might make him more of an obstacle in this delicate situation than an asset. He was a very caring fellow, of course, and maybe he was capable of caring for dinosaurs beyond his mother. But even with all his practice on Mercedes he hardly seemed to understand her needs. I'm sure if she had a daughter she'd be better cared for, Zara thought. She checked herself. You don't even know how to deal with this snakebite, yet you have the vanity to think you might care for Mercedes better than Tait himself!
Zara thought some more. Mercedes was a bit senile, maybe, but perhaps she knew how to nurse someone. It was worth a shot.
Briefly, Zara wondered what this Tyrant's reception would be in her tribe, but she was quickly decided. It was more important to care for his health than worry about his poor reception by the tribe. Even if they might ask what she was doing on the Canyon Runner border.
She hurried back to the river where she hoped Mercedes was still eating berries.

So true!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣Although I do wanna say,it's meant to mean he hasn't had the proper diet of a Wetlander which is different than a Canyon Runner's, so he hasn't been in healthiest conditions.

Cragan felt bad for him now. Personally, he would hate life as a scavenger. He nodded solemnly.
For a moment, Cragan had forgotten the original object of their being at the Wetland border. After all that had passed, it seemed a bit inappropriate to continue their jolly hunt, but what else was there to do? Spruce had crossed over the Wetlander border.
"Yeah," he replied, sniffing as well. "I think... I think I might smell some that way," he said, pointing with his tiny arm in the direction of the scent. "But unfortunately that's Wetlander territory."
Arran started towards the direction Cragan pointed. “Well maybe they’re not all on Wetlander territory.” He said, testing the air again to see if he could pinpoint the location of their prey.

(Arran is looking for Zara, but he doesn’t know she’s with Spruce. They probably won’t head towards him, but I thought Spruce and them were on Wetlander territory?)

"Mother, oh dear, sweet Mother, we should be heading back," Tait followed his mother to the new bush. Oh... why'd they have to be so far from the Thunder! Just think of the dangers out here!
"Mother," Tait peeled a branch off the bush. Maybe, just maybe... "Can we take this and go?"

Mercedes glanced at the desperate tyrant. Messing up a perfectly good bush like always. He was always trying to ruin something. She turned her back to him and picked more berries. Wait. Someone was near. She sniffed the air. Ah, probably nobody important. She opened her mouth and in went the berries.
