Roasted a Turkey and fed to the Chickens.

I roasted the turkey for us, boiled the carcass for soup and then fed the leavings to the chickens. They picked the bones cleaner than fireants!!

I bought nine turkeys at Thanksgiving when they were cheap so it looks like my little pigs have a new special treat.

My birds are probably the only ones who expect their full ration of feed PLUS free range several hours each day (on weekends it's all day).

I fed my girls the turkey carcass at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Boy - did they strip it dry!

After they strip it, bring the carcass in and put it through the blender. Mine love the ground up bones. Guess the calcium and marrow tastes really good

Oh look, it gets worse. I processed our rooster last week and fed the leftovers to his hens....

Ummm...they thought he was terrific.

uggh, you guys! I just cannot stomach feeding my chickens chicken (or turkey)! I mean how would you feel if the meatloaf turned out to be.....a relative.
