I saw a what looked like a meteorite fall when I was a kid, I went back to look for it last week. Didn't find it, grass was too tall, but I had a blast anyhow.

I found the impact site when I was a kid. It came in long and low, westish to eastish. Left a long skid mark and a big pile of dirt. We were too dumb to figure out it was in the pile of dirt, LOL we were standing on it saying to eachother "where'd it go?" LMAO

My Dad used to live in the desert too, in Yermo. I live in Hot Springs, Ar. but all the stuff in walking distance is National Park. Not allowed there. We still manage to go places to dig once in a while.
