Such a bummer! Sorry that happened. For both eggs and the sexing issues.

The emus we picked up today will have dna results back here shortly. But she sexed them at hatch and is pretty confident in her ability to call it correctly. But at least we’ll know for sure what they are once results come back.

If you think chicks and chickens have a death wish, you’ve never spent time with an emu chick. O.M.G. They give new meaning to kamikaze and suicidal tendencies.

I can confirm this. Curiosity beats common sense with emu chicks. Not to say they dig out all the buried stones and gravel in your yard and manage to swallow them when you look away.
