Rocks around the run?

I can kind of see the rocks on the far end of your run....with the flowers it looks beautiful!! I will defenitly do that next summer!

did you burry your rocks or just put them around? what is better you think?

I also see that you put a wider welded wire over the chicken wire, i think that's what i'll do too instead of removing the chicken wire, just leave it there and add on!

I positioned the rocks above the ground to cover the exposed wire and sprinkled dirt to fill in the 'gaps' so to speak then tossed the flower seeds on top of that. I had the usual volunteer weeds pop up but I didn't mind the 'wild' look, and was surpised how well everything came together!

Good luck! You may have to wait until spring to get flowers growing.

Ok that picture really shows!! Not to complicated either...yeah nothing will grow now, it's raining these days but we should have snow soon, and it get's really cold out here so spring it will be! I'm thinking now I'll gather a bunch of rocks and make a little pathway to the pen door and the door of the coop....ahhh already thinking about the landscaping around the coop, because right now it's just sand! Some flowers would look nice

Do you have a link to a picture of your GSD? We had a GSD but he just passed 2 months ago at age 13. We miss him

....I would like to see a pic of your dog!

I buried larger than brick size, quarried rocks under the door of the first pen. Also used railroad ties around the fence on the inside. Old timers told me that the cresode in the ties would deter bugs, like lice. Sure didnt keep the crickets away this summer... And field fence to stop predators on the outside.
Have not anything try to tear up the pen.

Nice pic of your pen, Oldchick.

We had some unused chain link fence that I laid on the ground outside the run then I put some old 6x6" timbers at the edge where the chain link met the run fencing. So far no problems with anything trying to dig under. Good luck.
