I had a chicken with an impacted crop once- and, with copious praying and sleepless nights, she made it!!!!!
What we did:
1. We started by evaluating her. Noted the classic hard crop, foul breath, purple comb, and lethargy.
Isolated her from the flock. Kept her warm with a heating pad.
2. We flipped her over by and she vomited up the contents of her crop. We did this multiple times per hour per day. Although you have to be careful that you don't suffocate her by inducing vomiting too often. It's really complicated, so I definitely advise you read all those articles. Then we had her drink ACV in her water, which actually took a long time to even convince her to drink.
Thanks so much for doing this, Sarah. The problem is, we cant do it tonight or tomorrow cause I'm going to my cousins after church. I think we're just going to let her die in peace. I feel really bad saying this... Thanks again.
