Yup, I can think of one in particular that chimes in on almost every thread and has never owned any sort of poultry. Had a dog 30 years ago though...Look around. You’ll find them. Lol
I suspect you are right.I thought for a minute you thought I didn't...lol
I only have a few but I used to have something like 1200 - 2000 back in the early 2000's. So I'm relearning some stuff I'd forgotten but I'm not as clueless as I was when I started back when I was 13. lol
I imagine this whole thread is moot as the OP is probably not taking anyone's advice to heart or even still reading the thread...
Lol. No not you. Sorry about that.I thought for a minute you thought I didn't...lol

I still fail to see the point of keeping a bachelor flock at all. I understand keeping a back up breeder or two but it seems to me these “bachelor flocks” are the product of people unwilling to kill a rooster. Otherwise why not keep them with a few hens? Breed aggressiveness rarely makes a difference however the roosters natural dominance sure will. This is why some people have no problems keeping 1 rooster with 1 hen while the hens feathers remain perfect which is a product of selective breeding.
Mine is like a puppy with feathers.Everyone keeps a bachelor flock for their own reasons. I keep one simply because I love roosters. I find them to be much more friendly than a lot of my hens!

I love roosters too. Have you ever tried giving the roosters a few of their own hens instead of keeping them with other males? They might appreciate it a little more.Everyone keeps a bachelor flock for their own reasons. I keep one simply because I love roosters. I find them to be much more friendly than a lot of my hens!
