Roo got attacked now his ear is swollen, puss and watery

They sell Gordons or Martins permethrin 10 concentrate to make a solution to use in a spray bottle 1 1/4 ounce (37 ml) per Gallon or 9 ml per quart. They have permethrin garden dust as well to use in cold weather. It is safe for mites and lice in poultry.
Temporarily you can use a length of aquarium air tubing (found in pet aisle at WalMart) which can connect to a 35 ml regular syringe from a feed store. A vet can sell you a feeding tube and a catheter tipped 60 ml syringe which is a larger bore tube. The air tubing will pass raw egg, plain yogurt and very thin foods plus water.

Sorry that you had trouble finding the products I recommended yesterday. I thought that I had given enough info, but glad you got everything, or will soon.

How much does he weigh? You'll want to concentrate on getting fluids into him and I recommend Pedialyte at no less than 5-10 ml per 100 grams per day (23-46 ml per pound per day). Note this is the per *day* amount, not the per feeding amount.

Start by giving fluids @ 3 ml per 100 grams (14 ml per pound), wait 60-90 minutes and repeat if crop is clear or mostly clear.

Once you have those fluids in, and they clear the crop, you can tube Kaytee Exact baby bird food, which you can find at Petsmart or Petco.

Baby bird food amounts are to give are 3 ml per 100 grams (14 ml per pound) no less than twice a day.

Petco is 20 miles away from me ill have to go tomorrow. He weighs about 8pounds. Two years ago this bird was missing for 6 days. Finally found him stuck in a sheep hay trough. No food or water so this bird is tuff.

Thanks

What are your thoughts on my picture above?
Perfect!

Picked it up today! What I'm talking about is certain parote liquid food that I can tube. Now I have to blend. Oh well. Oh, another thing I couldn't find anything around here for mites. TSC only had de- earth I don't want to use that. I don't need Lucky to inhale that and make things worse than they are already.
Tom
TSC carries this:

Personally, I would go with the max dosage of 40mg/kg. Which would be 0.36ml per pound of weight given orally 3 times a day for 5 days.
(Someone check my math please)
That's what I would do.

That's a big bird! He needs lots of water, at least 180 ml per day.
*Feed* per feeding should be 108 ml to 120 ml at least twice a day.

Does that help at all?

Sure does! Wow that's a lot of tubing. Or ill need a bigger syringe. Today was my first time tubing a chicken I've done horses before.
I dont want to be to hard on him, he's traumatized already.
The day he got attacked he ate afterwards. Then next day wouldn't eat or drink.

I know it seems like a lot, but it's all based on percentages of what they weigh.
